The Lion is getting a face lift

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

Yes, we finally put aside the time for our own web site development project.  Our team is on the prowl and will be launching a brand new web site which we feel more closely reflects our talent and expertise.

Over the years we have been perfecting our approach to custom web development and I must say it has been a ball being our own client.  Custom web development is complex with many moving parts and more variables.  Since our inception we have realized having a rigorous, yet flexible process-driven philosophy helps reduce and even eliminate most frustration bombs for our clients.  Designing, engineering and coding our own web site has enabled us to fully scrutinize all of our processes with this new web site project.

So, check out a sneak peak of the home page:

The new site has me reflecting back to when we started in web development back in 95.  I dug up the original web site using Internet Archive’s Way Back Machine.  Our first web site in all its glory looked something like:

I must say I am extremely grateful to have been a part of surviving the dot com boom and bust over the 14 years we have been able to proudly serve our clients.  The collective wisdom and experience we have all gained has been tremendous giving us a big advantage as we compete for prospective clients who demand the best in custom web development.

Now, I know the best is yet to come for White Lion Internet Agency and our new site will help galvanize our vision even in this challenging economic environment.

So give us a shout about your next custom web site redesign project so you can capitalize on the uptick in the economy which is right around the corner.

White Lion moves up in Austin Business Journal’s “2009 Book of Lists”

Wednesday, February 4th, 2009

The Book of Lists by the Austin Business Journal rates Austin’s top companies across many industries. The 2009 Book of Lists uses sales figures from 2007. White Lion is currently ranked 9th up one spot from 2006 with 2007 sales of $1.32 million (that’s a lot of web sites) in the “Web Site Designers & Developers” listing on page 134.

Overall we are proud to see our rank continue to climb as it has over the years since we started in 1995.

About 15-20% of our business is from outside the greater Austin area. On that note we are proud to be part of “Silicon Hills.” Silicon Hills is a label derived from Austin being similar to Silicon Valley. Competing and winning in the dynamic tech-based economy that is Austin, allows White Lion to be competitive in any market.

So if you are in Austin (you are one of the lucky ones) or anywhere outside contact us for your next web design project so we can move up a few spots in the next Book of Lists.

Conquer - Efficient - Love in 2009

Monday, January 19th, 2009

How about a little insight into our 2009 company goals? If curious see:

cel_v3b
To keep our focus, our entire team is focusing on three major goals this year:

CONQUER: Even with the state of the economy our goals are to see another year of double digit growth and pass the $2 million mark in custom web development services. To do so, we will continue to innovate and deliver super premium web solutions.

EFFICIENT: Increase our operating margin by 11%. Being a custom web design agency, we like to finesse the details. In the past we have not focused enough attention on measuring our time investment throughout the development lifecycle. Attention to detail will always the stay the same. At the same time our entire team is working hard to proactively measure the health of all our projects throughout production and make adjustments as needed.

LOVE: One of the big things that makes us different is our approach to servicing our clients. Managing web projects can be like juggling running chain saws on fire. On that note, our team is fortunate to have some great project managers. To help share ideas and gain feedback with our project management and discovery team, we have kicked off a new program with all clients to help better connect and spread the love.

To remind us of our 2009 goals, many of us use the “CEL” image as our background for our computer’s desktop while others have a small cut-out taped to one of their monitors. I am really confident we will cross the finish line with all three goals reached.

So get some love and contact our team today about your next custom web development project.
